Biography

Dr Ella Stephens is a neurologist and epileptologist at Westmead Hospital, Sydney. As part of the Westmead Comprehensive Epilepsy Centre, she works to deliver cutting edge care to children and adults with medication-resistant epilepsy.

She has experience using EEG and neuroimaging to diagnose and classify epilepsy syndromes to guide ongoing treatment and has Level 3 neurophysiology accreditation in EEG from the Australian and New Zealand Association of Neurologists (ANZAN).

Dr Stephens has research interests in advanced computational processing of neuroimaging and intracranial EEG to improve outcomes for children and adults undergoing surgery for medication-resistant focal epilepsy.

In addition to her clinical and research interests, Dr Stephens is a keen medical educator and is involved in teaching of medical students, junior doctors and trainee specialists.
